Days and times of workshops, enrolment information

Arius School of Performing Arts provides dynamic, high quality tuition in music, drama and dance for ages 8 – 18. Our programme is run by qualified teachers and industry professionals, and gives all students the experience of live performances and shows, studio recording, as well as addressing specific technical skills in music, drama and dance. At only £10 per session, we believe Arius School of Performing Arts not only provides exceptional value for money, but also has the most comprehensive programme of performing arts provision in Wales.

In detail
The workshops have been designed to be active and fun, and are focused on developing students’ performing skills, enhancing self-confidence, motivation, and broadening students’ life experiences and social skills.

The programme runs throughout the year during school term time, and builds toward performances and shows at local theatres and performance venues. Our support staff include a specialist theatre technician, sound engineers and musicians, whose input ensures the highest standards of professionalism at Arius performances. Recent shows include Bugsy Malone, as well as original shows written by Arius Director Stephen Preston.

Arius students are also professionally recorded during the year, singing original songs, and these are released on CD.  The recordings provide students and parents with a wonderful record of their hard work, as well as giving students invaluable experience of professional recording and production.

Whether looking to enter a career in performing or simply wanting to enjoy the thrill of live performance: with our competitive fees, family friendly atmosphere and experienced, professional staff, we believe there is no better place for children and young people to enjoy and develop in the performing arts.

  Our Philosophy

We believe that

  • Experiencing live performance can be a life-transforming experience for young people
  • Creativity and confidence learned in the arts feeds positively into other areas of life
  • People of all cultures and backgrounds can communicate and affirm themselves, and also develop understanding and empathy for others through the performing arts
  • Having the right start in performing can open doors to future professional career paths in the arts
  Our Values

We believe the performing arts are essential.

Live performance is a universal form of human communication. It can challenge and inspire us; help us see beyond ourselves to bigger possibilities.

We believe the performing arts can unite people of different backgrounds and cultures.

At Arius we believe in promoting diversity and inclusiveness: in our students, our performances, and in our audiences. As we embrace our differences, whether in language, culture or ethnic background, through practising and performing together, we both affirm one other and develop a deeper appreciation for artistic diversity.

We believe the performing arts can inspire leadership.

By accepting various responsibilities in practices and performances, and by exercising their own creativity, our students can develop their own leadership skills, which can positively impact upon their whole lives.

We seek to give every pupil the opportunity to find their true potential both as performers, and as individuals.
